OPEN CALL

RIDE FOR YOUR RIGHT Poster Design Competition

Topic

We are calling for poster designs that take a stand for the values of freedom, equality, equity, and diversity—especially in light of their erosion in Hungary today, the rise of exclusionary government policies, and the social responses these provoke. Submitted works should be based on the motto “Ride for Your Right”, and become visual tools of resistance, solidarity, and community mobilization.

Our Goal

We aim to use creative power to support democracy, defend our fundamental rights, and uplift both artists and everyone who rides for equality—so that the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights actually means something here in Hungary!

The winning poster will be the central visual element of the 2025 campaign by the Marom Universe (Auróra Community House, Bánkitó Festival, Open Spaces Network, Jewish Culture 2028) connected to Budapest Pride, and will receive a prize of 100,000 HUF.

Submitted posters will be used both in print and online formats, and exhibited as part of a traveling and digital exhibition. Selected works—chosen by a professional jury—will be first shown at the Budapest Pride Civil Village, followed by a charity auction, with proceeds going to support the work of the Rainbow Mission Foundation (organizers of Budapest Pride).
All submitted works will also be part of a public vote, and the winner will receive an additional 50,000 HUF prize.

With this campaign, we want to do more than take a stand—we want to spotlight the many talented creators in Hungary (and around the world) who have something to say and are ready to make their voices heard.
